I don't really think they 'chose' to pick up songs from RBN. The only example I can think of at the moment is Underoath, and from what I understand from some guys at RGS, HMX picked it up because the label was sick and tired of the kid who was taking forever putting the song in playtesting every once in a blue moon with a bunch of mistakes

I looked DITD up on Youtube and some tallentless woman named Inna, who has a garbage song by the same name, has more views than Bruce Springsteen's Dancing in the dark. What the hell is wrong with the world? The little bit of musical faith I had left in humanity just died.

They also mentioned in a podcast that there was a certain song slated for release that they had to stop in RBN. I firmly believe that was Mastodon, since the RBN pick for Mastodon was a very strange one and Blood & Thunder was released not long after that podcast.

I'm not sure about that. Including the week you mentioned, I believe there's, I think, 11 total songs since RB3 came out that are singles and don't have keys? I didn't bother checking the European songs, honestly. On top of those dozen or so, I think five of them were songs that were part of the pairs of two type thing (Police x1, A7X and Live x2), so it's far from a common occurence. The only songs left out of the bunch are bands that wouldn't have been on RBN anyway, such as Run-DMC and Kiss
