Here are the actual relationships you would have to use when making an analogy like this:

DLC : TV Show (the entertainment)
PS3/Xbox : TV (the device the entertainment is playing on)
Microsoft/Sony: TV manufacturer (the entity that create the device to play the entertainment)
Harmonix : Cable Network (the entity that creates the entertainment)
PSN/Xbox Live : Cable Company (the entity that provides access to the entertainment)

So, your TV not turning on isn't directly analogous to DLC not being available, because a TV plays entertainment and DLC is entertainment. What would actually apply is "My TV Shows aren't playing. Let me call the cable company." or "My DLC isn't available. Let me call Xbox Live.", which are perfectly logical courses of action.

You might call the Cable Network if your TV shows weren't playing, but when has your cable ever stopped working and it turned out to be because of the cable network? Probably never, usually it's because of a cable outage in the area.

That is unfortunate - hopefully whatever issues there are will be rectified sooner than later. (Fingers crossed the 4/1 theory is true). At least you can still access the library.

But that, combined with the frustrating skips on the Wii and trouble connecting with other players at times, does make it that much more tempting to move to the Xbox.

you know what would make things awesomer? if just this once they gave PS3 and Wii users a month's worth of tracks in advance and make the Xbox users wait to get it on their usual days :P

That would be cool, except.. than we'd have weeks of no dlc. LOL.

Ah for feck sake! I'm used to Sony Europe being a pain in the ass, with all the missing and reappearing dlc and what not, so not that surprised it affects EU Ps3 players.

If i was affected by this i probably wouldn't care about the wait. But by the sounds of it, you guys probably won't get the songs released from now till then ever.
That would have me very upset.

You have made 3 mistakes here.

1.Getting a Wii.
2.Buying Rock Band for said Wii.
3.Putting money into something related to the internet on a Nintendo system.

I hope next time you have to make a decision like this you will make the right choice

I was going to get Rock Band for my Wii that I used to have. Then I heard how crappy and bad it was in comparison to the 360. I decided to switch to the 360 for a lot more fun games, and Rock Band. I put tons of money into the 360 version of Rock Band, and now I am putting money into the PS3 version. If you think $300 is bad, then don't bother trying to get every DLC. Why not start getting DLC on the 360, the system everyone actually cares about, and then start working on the backlog. Since you aren't getting DLC, you can spend your money working on your DLC library for the few months that Nintendo isn't giving DLC.

That depends how much money he has. Not even I, the guy buying almost everything without question, maybe even a lot of stuff on RBN, would be able to do that.

Sell your Wii and instruments as a bundle listing DLC. Get MS points. Get RB3 GoD. Rip RB 1 to the HD. Call EA get export codes for RB2, GD and Lego. Back in business.
