I really like my keyboard but it has this problem. I am playing and the keys quit working I look down at the keys and ther are 4 lights flashing, when I look at the dongle it is dark. The led that is usually flashing is out. ??? any ideas, is the dongle bad? Is there a problem with the wii? Software? Help

i have that same problem, but dontknow whay it is. Did yours just start doing it recently? Mine started doing it around the time the servers started getting hard to sign on to. I'm thinking it's just a glitch having to do with the wii servers, not anything on our end. Just guessing. Hope it stops. Good luck

Why we need a help thread..
no. This is why people need to realize that this is a thread for bugs about the site not about bugs with their game or instruments.

Yes this thread is for bugs about the site. But I'm saying if we had a help thread, we wouldn't be getting these in Bug Reports. ---

the only thing I would change is the wording under this forum, but even then I see people posting things about their game or instruments being broken. The correct forum(if any here) would be the music game forums, but they should really post that stuff over at the RockBand.com forums.

I know what you're getting at, and I agree. I just personally don't like the Rock Band forums. ---

if you dont like the Rock Band forums that doesnt make it OK for you to post things in the wrong forum here.

And it wouldn't be in the wrong forum if we had a help subforum. ---

Just post it in the Music Games forums. We dont need a help subforum that will barely be used. And if we get a Help subforum before a Dance Central subforums I will RIOT!

Believe me with what is currently going on with rb we need a help forum. I don't understand a bug is a bug is a bug. it is natural for people who have a bug to go to the bug site. live with it. I found( for those interested) that when I disconnected my microphone, the bug went away( everyone else ignore this. I am just putting it up for davtamsco. There are only two people using the bug forum and you begrudge a little space. Your not even discussing site bugs just complaining and I don't think that belongs in this forum!

This subforum is for bugs relating to the site not Rock Band. End of story.

Since the thread is started and I'm bored, for the people who will seek this information: I believe that the dongle and the keyboard operates on 2.4ghz frequency, which is used by TONS, and TONS of stuff at your home (unless you have no cell phones and such, which would be a surprise nowadays) and it interfere with the connection of your keyboard. I experiment the same problem, it's very random, when it happens I simply put my cellphone in another room, and it stops doing it. I've tried that solution once I read the manual and saw that it was operating on the 2.4ghz frequency. So here's two suggestions: no1: Buy a real keyboard and the MIDI adapter, no2: either move your ps3 in a room that there's nothing wireless, or move everything that uses the wireless technology away from the room where your console is. This should fix your problem, if it doesn't it means I was wrong and my keyboard just likes to fuck up when my cellphone is around. --- There is always a pink squirrel wandering around.

Guess I'll finally answer this. Being a wii user, I've had this happen alot.
It does not only occur on keyboards, it can happen to all instruments, save vocals (microphones).
Its one of the many glitches on the Wii, and it can happen quite randomly.
Theres nothing really *wrong*, its just a small glitch in the USBs, but the only way to fix it is by reseting your Wii, and upon turning it back on, the instrument should reconnect.
Besides that, theres nothing you can do in-game, even unplugging the USB and plugging it back on will not work.
That being said, the only solution I have for having the USBs 'die' less often, is syncing the instrument and the USB before starting up the game, it seems to help a bit.
If you need any help or advice regarding Wii system-related things, feel free to message me. --- Yes.

I was a wii user, can't this be fixed by installing one or more cIOS? Assuming you have homebrew.
EDIT: Did you tried port 0(the port near the edge)? Everytime I used USB the wii was more friendly on this port than the other one... for an unknown reason. --- There is always a pink squirrel wandering around.

I also find that daisy chaining the USBs makes them less likely to die on you, but I may just be lucky. --- Yes.
