So just because technology increases, the world is forced to adapt? That's a retarded reason.
Yes, technology increases. However, the only time it is necessary is when the product itself is changed. Changing one's perception of the product (HD or surround sound) is not a direct change, and therefore not essential at all. They are just shiny coats to attract attention. They are just gimmicks!
There doesn't have to be a downside to it, it just has to be a useless feature that merely attracts attention while not improving the actual product. Does HD make a shitty movie good? I don't think so. They are just gimmicks. They are useless. They don't essentially improve the product. People who whine about not having them are spoiled.
The whole "bar being raised" is just the generic excuse for a spoiled citizen. "This new rhythm game doesn't export? Well other games do, so therefore it is a bad game. This car doesn't have heated seats? Well other cars do, so therefore it is a bad car. This new system doesn't have HDMI? Well other systems do, so therefore it is a bad system." It is the perfect example of one being spoiled. You are the fat kid sitting at the table demanding that everyone bring you the proper foods the way you want them. And a norm in an entirely spoiled nation is just as pathetic as the individuals residing in it. --- Life is excellent, the tap water tastes like excrement, the skies rain poison, and I gotta pay the rent!
