Excellent! I've been meaning to whip up something similar, but never got around to it.

I have a few suggestions for extra features:
*A group by Genre option (with a long list, for a new player, starting with a genre they're familiar with helps them find songs they know & like)
*Filters for songs with Keys, and Pro Guitar/Bass - or a way to mark on the sheet those with Pro and/or Keys support

Something a bit more radical (and closer to my own plan) is a bookmarkable web version, that's easily browsable on a tablet (iPad, etc...)

Even more radical - allow people to create custom set-lists live, saved to rockband.com, ready for playing on the spot!

I agree with Dortamur, I would love to see:

*Filters for songs with Keys, and Pro Guitar/Bass and a way to mark on the sheet those with Pro and/or Keys support

(That is the reason I signed up for dlcquickplay.com instead of MyRockBandSongs.com because they store that information)

Thanks for this great tool. I think I stopped having RB parties precisely because I didn't have a list like this that people could browse!

Yes, I want to do this.

(That is the reason I signed up for dlcquickplay.com instead of MyRockBandSongs.com because they store [pro] information)

To do this on MRBS you would create a custom print booklet with pro-whatever-instrument(s) selected under "Pull songs with these instruments", save it, then use that booklet's XML address.

The "group by genre" option has been implemented.

Note that non_zero will have to do a little normalizing of the genre information on his side. For instance, I'm seeing separate "Pop Rock", "Pop-Rock", and "Pop/Rock" genres; separate "Prog" and "Progressive" genres; and for some reason Rage Against The Machine's "Testify" is marked as being "Blues". ;-)

Let me know if you have any trouble with the feature.

Goddammit I thought I fixed that and I think it got overwritten again.

Also of note is a lot of those genres are accurate to the original release, as Harmonix has changed things like the Pop standard EVERY release of Rock Band. Rock Band I think was Pop-Rock, Rock Band 2 was Pop/Rock, and Rock Band 3 is Pop/Dance/Electronic.

I can go through RB3 at some point and try to figure it out at some point next month if no one else does.

HI, I would like to point out a sort of glaring omission in the Guitar Hero Karaoke List (as in the list set to songs from Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock and related DLC).

Here's the song you've missed: "Free Ride" by Edgar Winter (one of the Warriors of Rock on-disc songs)

I hope you fix it.

Thank you.

Hi. Im currently trying to get this working on my Asus transformer to hand people to peruse all my songs, but it says it cant open it as its not a proper pdf file, (i have the adobe pdf viewer) but the googledocs file you put on fakeplastic works fine. Any suggestions?

I don't know what's wrong with your Asus Transformer. I pop your username into the site, and it spits out a PDF without trouble. Try it on another computer.

I don't run FakePlasticRock.com, and didn't post anything there.

Easy. He's not going to add them straight away in a situation where it is not merely DLC.

Love the tool.
Is there any way to get it to break down over decades like it does for genres? My group would really like that. The kids could check out 21st century items and us geezers could check our faves from the 70s and 80s.

Thanks!

Technically possible, DLCQP can already export in other formats grouped by decade.

Sounds like a good idea to me, so I've added it. See the new "Top grouping" option. Thanks for the suggestion!

Don't know if I did something wrong or if its the code, but got this error...

"Error generating PDF: Use of uninitialized value $year in pattern match (m//) at /var/www/tdavis.org/bin/songs-pdf.pl line 296. Use of uninitialized value $year in pattern match (m//) at /var/www/tdavis.org/bin/songs-pdf.pl line 296. Runtime limit reached. Contact the site administration if the problem continues."

... when testing out the new feature.

Hope the above error code helps sort the issue.

The $year thing was irrelevant to the problem, but it did expose two songs that don't have year information here on DLC Quickplay: Talking Heads "Burning Down The House" and Various Artists "Rock Band Network Megamix 01".

The "runtime limit reached" problem should be fixed.
