AH, I guess I stand corrected. That being said, Korn aren't just Mr Bungle 0.5.

I guess I'll play Devil's advocate here, and argue that Korn isn't a shitty Mr. Bungle tribute band. My argument? L.A.P.D., aka Korn minus Jonathan Davis.

They are essentially Korn before actually being Korn (before breaking up L.A.P.D. and reforming under a new name with a new vocalist). But what makes this a real argument is that L.A.P.D. not only had that "experimental funk metal" similar to both Korn and Mr. Bungle, but they also released their first studio album in 1991 (the same year that Mr. Bungle released their first album). And not only that, L.A.P.D.'s album came out before Mr. Bungle's.

Personally, I don't think either band ripped each other off, just as I think neither band is that spectacular (if I had to pick one I like more, I'd probably have to go with Mr. Bungle though). However, there is definitely grounds there for an argument that not only is Korn not a "shitty Mr. Bungle tribute band", but that it can be argued that Mr. Bungle is a "shitty Korn tribute band"!

Oh please, you think everything is ripping off Mr. Bungle or any other Mike Patton band.

Korn even uses a chord they themselves named the "Mr. Bungle chord". It's pretty obvious who they adore.

You do know that Mr. Bungle released their first demo tape/EP in 1986, right?

I've never even thought to draw comparisons between Korn and Mr. Bungle one band is insanely talented and the other was depressed teenager music I don't even want to discuss this further I'm disgusted by the idea you can say there are any sort of links between:

Mike Patton and Jonathan Davis
Trevor Dunn and Munky
Trey Spruance and Hed

Mr. Bungle’s style has influenced many funk rock and metal bands, most notably Korn, whose guitarists utilize what they have dubbed the "Mr. Bungle chord". Brandon Boyd of Incubus, also cited early Mr. Bungle as an influence. The band has been less enthusiastic about being linked to these acts; frontman Patton considers it an insult being known as the forefather of Korn and Limp Bizkit. However, he stated: "I feel no responsibility for that, it's their mothers' fault, not mine."

Okay, what is up with you retards and automatically stapeling all music that apeals to teenagers as instan shit? Just because they are unlucky enough to get such a fanbase they might still be great musicians and create good songs (Marilyn Manson anyone?).

Because I listened to Korn when it came out and that's exactly what it was.

Still, the fact that Korn uses a chord they called "Mr. Bungle chord" makes it pretty clear.

Ah, so this is what it's all about. Fanwars. One band hate the other so the fans have to hate them too eh?

You're turning into Jim Sterling, believing we have no deep judgment, thinking we blr things together.

Which is probably true in this case, although a band like Linkin Park is indeed shit.

I said that not all teenage-appealing music is bad, not that all teenage-appealing music is good.

It's about overall musical quality.

Fanwars would be dissing Wolfmother (who I also strongly dislike, but not because of Patton's opinion, becuase I hated that band before I knew who Patton was).

I watch a show for 8 year girls aswell, and you know why? Because it's good and caring about what stuff is aimed at instead of the actuall quality is retarded beyond belief.

I remember when toymachine got all indignant when I made the slightest of defenses for Slipknot and the slightest of offences against Radiohead.

The price of Resi 4 says most of you do this. Oh shit, I'm becoming Sterling.
