Hey, what do you know! I wrote another one!
Another One Bites The Dust by Queen - Just As Fun As It Sounds
Ah, Queen. Love them or hate them, you can't deny that they were (and still are) one of the biggest, and one of the most inspirational bands in rock history, with many of their songs becoming instant classics. Another One Bites The Dust is no exception. Although not as theatrical as some of their other tunes, AOBTD is a wonderful piece of classic rock thanks to it's minimalistic, yet aggressive feel. I would go on and on, but hey. I have a bass review to write.
I will just spill the beans, and say it. I liked it. There is very little wrong with this bass line. If I had to make any negative judgements, it would be that the pattern that you play falls a little on the basic side. While I did have fun with this song, what I was playing started to feel really underwhelming by the third verse. That being said, I can definitely see someone who is new to Rock Band loving this.
Is this the most spectacular bass line in Rock Band's library? No. Far from. However, should this song be overlooked by bassists? Absolutely not. I would definitely recommend this classic Queen track to anyone who is:
A: Just starting out on bass
B: Any veteran bassist who wants a good warmup before the hard songs
C: Any Queen fan buying DLC for the first time
I give Another One Bites The Dust by Queen 3 out of five stars.
