This song feels almost impossible to keep the beat of. Not only is it a boring song to play, but it's a terrible live version that feels like it changes tempos through the whole thing. I could be wrong, but I couldn't play it, because the song is just so awful.

Blue ride cymbal with kick, blue, blue with snare, blue and repeat. I'd avoid this in every way possible.

Bad Live Version, but At Least Guitar's Fun Gigakoops
Even if you can't stand Kermit the Frog rapping this version of the song, you gotta admit there are legitimately fun parts on guitar.

Most of the song is simple chord patterns that move around the neck at a slow pace. However, there are little "mini solos" that breath life into this chart. Sprinkled around are short HOPO patterns that have you going around the frets at a rate similar to "Here Without You" by 3 Doors Down (I compare it to that since I already reviewed it). These are especially present during the latter third of the song (the big buildup).

Even if it's got some dull parts, it's totally worth it on guitar.

alright lets get this over with GoldAnthro
So here's a live track included in a pack, which i don't get to see often. While rock band does a pretty good job with cinematic and crowd effects, it still most of the time uses studio multi-tracks more than not, as there are more clean than an actual live performance recording. However some songs such as the live ac/dc track pack songs do a good job at the effect. The main issue with this song (especially on vocals) is the fact that the recording sounds like its from a bootleg off an FM radio station. The live sound effects are what replace the former crowd sing alongs from the rock band 1 and 2 days (which in my humble opinion i preferred), but the track doesn't successfully replace the crowd sounds well enough to sound on par with other live tracks released on the rock band music store. It's hard to recommend this track as a vocalist, and gets three star only due to the fact its one of their most classic songs.

So, I was wondering what the live version would sound like. I was fooled by the RockBand site which said it was a 1973 release. This is not true (I think). Instead, I think that's when the original was released. This is clearly a new live version, as Steve's voice is crappy. If I had known, I probably wouldn't have bought it.

The guitar is nice though. Some basic chording in the verses with some nice ho-po runs around the choruses. But I have a hard time with it because the voice keeps pulling me out of the song.
