In general, most players stay away from zero-dot basses. But most players stay away from zero-dot guitar, and this has two incredibly powerful and fun solos in it.
What it doesn't have is fun bass, or more exactly, enough fun bass. Bass comes in late, and plays a rhythm focused on long sustains for the verse. The chorus comes, and plays a different rhythm focuses on slightly short sustains.
There is one redeeming quality to the song, and that is the first guitar solo. The bass has some fairly cool movements in there, but then it's back into sustain land and it's lost under the drudge. The bass does do one abnormal measure during the second solo as well, but it's during a chorus so it's quickly forgotten under those sustains.
It's not even a great bass to introduce someone to expert on, as it Flea DOES do some of his stuff in there at one point, which would cause most beginners to have a heart attack. It's just not for bassists.
