I have to admit I am torn on this song's guitar Chart, as I want to give it a 5/5, but I just cannot do so because there are parts that are unpleasant to play and last a very long time.
Most notably, its opening riff (not the organ intro) is a series of ascending triplets mixed in with some fast sweeps that goes on entirely too long and gets annoying really quickly. That part of the song is repetitive, challenging, and frankly kind of boring and frustrating. Plus, it goes on for like 2 minutes, which is literally a quarter of the song's total length. Definitely an "I give up, moving on" segment if I've ever seen one.
But then, once that part is over, the chart mellows out a bit and gets very, very good. The basic riff is a tonne of fun, both challenging but enjoyable. There are four solos strewn without, a bunch of different guitar changeups, and a litany of different styles to enjoy.
The song is an absolute blast, taking you on a roller coaster from every end of the spectrum, going from hardcore top-tier shredding to gentle, melodic melancholia mixed in with some organ sustains.
It's a wonderful song for three quarters of its length and by the end I was almost ready to completely ignore the terribly unpleasant opening, but upon second playthrough I just couldn't ignore it.
4/5, when it's good it's great (most of the song), but when it's bad, it's unbearable (the opening)
